Linby & Papplewick
Small, Quiet villages on the edge of Hucknall. Population 281 in 1991 census.
Papplewick is thought to be the burial place of Alan A'Dale - one of Robin Hoods men. The Village is also a previous winner of Nottinghamshires Best Kept Vilage award.
The quaint village of Linby is renowned locally as the place the pancake was invented, baked to honour the brave local women who killed Danish invaders who enslaved them after their husbands fled.
